TEENYLANDS HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

By making a booking with Teenylands, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Hire Terms & Conditions.


1. BOOKINGS & PAYMENT

  • A 30% booking payment is required to secure your booking and reserve your chosen date.

  • Your booking is not confirmed until the required booking payment has been received.

  • The remaining 70% balance must be paid by the due date stated on your booking confirmation/invoice.

  • Bookings are only secured once the required payment has been received.

  • By completing a booking, the hirer confirms that they have provided accurate contact and event information.


2. HIRE PERIOD

  • The hire period is 4 hours, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Teenylands will arrange an agreed delivery, setup and collection time with the hirer.

  • The hirer must ensure that Teenylands has suitable and timely access to the property for delivery, setup and collection.

  • Additional time may incur an additional fee were agreed in advance.


3. SETUP & ACCESS


The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the setup area is suitable and accessible before booking.


Please ensure:

  • There is sufficient space for the selected equipment.

  • There is clear and easy access from the vehicle to the setup area.

  • Gates, pathways and entrances are wide enough for our equipment.

  • The setup surface is flat, stable and suitable.

  • Any stairs, narrow access points, steep driveways or other access restrictions are disclosed to Teenylands before booking.


Our equipment is bulky and can be heavy to move. If access or the setup area is unsuitable or unsafe upon arrival, Teenylands reserves the right to decline setup.
In circumstances where setup cannot safely proceed due to unsuitable access, space or conditions that were not disclosed at the time of booking, the booking payment will not be refundable.


4. EQUIPMENT & SPACE REQUIREMENTS


Bounce Castle

  • Approximate equipment size: 3m × 2.5m

  • Maximum of 5 children at a time

  • Suitable for children aged 5 and under

  • Approximately 7m × 6.5m of total clear space is required, including a minimum of 2m surrounding clearance.


Soft Play

  • Approximate equipment size: 4m × 5m

  • Suitable for children aged 5 and under

  • Maximum of approximately 5–10 children at a time, depending on the children’s size and activity level.

  • Approximately 9m × 8m of total clear space is required, including a minimum of 2m surrounding clearance.


The hirer is responsible for checking that their chosen venue/location can accommodate the required space before booking.


5. SAFETY & SUPERVISION

  • All Teenylands equipment is intended for children aged 5 and under only.

  • Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

  • The hirer is responsible for ensuring that all users follow the applicable safety rules.

  • The equipment must be used appropriately and for its intended purpose.

  • No shoes are permitted on the soft play or bounce castle.

  • No food, drinks, sharp objects or other items that may damage the equipment are permitted.

  • Face paint, glitter, confetti, slime, silly string or similar products must not be used on or around the equipment.

  • The equipment must not be moved, altered, dismantled or tampered with by the hirer or guests.


Teenylands reserves the right to stop use of the equipment if it is being used in an unsafe manner.


6. OUTDOOR BOOKINGS & WEATHER


Outdoor setups must be on a flat grass surface unless otherwise agreed with Teenylands.


For safety reasons, Teenylands equipment cannot be operated in:

  • Rain or wet conditions

  • Strong or unsafe winds

  • Conditions that may compromise the safety of the equipment or users


If weather conditions make the booking unsafe, Teenylands will contact the hirer as soon as reasonably possible to discuss available options, which may include postponement where possible.


Teenylands reserves the right to cancel or stop a setup/hire where weather conditions are considered unsafe.


7. CARE OF EQUIPMENT & DAMAGE


The hirer is responsible for taking reasonable care of all Teenylands equipment throughout the hire period.


The hirer may be held responsible for damage, loss, excessive cleaning or repair costs resulting from:

  • Misuse or inappropriate use of the equipment

  • Failure to follow Teenylands’ safety instructions

  • Deliberate or negligent damage

  • Prohibited items being used on or around the equipment

  • Equipment being moved or tampered with

  • Damage caused by guests or users during the hire period


Teenylands will assess any damage after collection and will contact the hirer if additional cleaning, repair or replacement costs are required.


8. CLEANING


The hirer is responsible for leaving the equipment reasonably clean and free from rubbish, food, drinks and other debris.
Additional cleaning fees may apply where equipment requires excessive cleaning beyond normal use.


9. CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES


If you need to cancel or change your booking, please contact Teenylands as soon as possible.


Your 30% booking payment is used to secure your chosen date and may be non-refundable depending on the timing and circumstances of the cancellation.


Where possible, Teenylands may offer a date change/postponement at its discretion and subject to availability.


Any approved changes to a booking must be confirmed by Teenylands in writing.

10. TEENYLANDS CANCELLATION


Teenylands reserves the right to cancel or postpone a booking where circumstances outside of our reasonable control prevent the safe delivery or use of the equipment, including severe weather, unsafe conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen circumstances.



11. HIRER RESPONSIBILITY


The person making the booking is responsible for:

  • Providing accurate booking and venue information.

  • Ensuring the location meets Teenylands’ space and access requirements.

  • Ensuring children are appropriately supervised.

  • Ensuring all guests follow the equipment rules.

  • Taking reasonable care of the hired equipment.

  • Informing Teenylands of any relevant access or location restrictions before the booking.


12. LIABILITY


Teenylands takes reasonable care to provide and operate its equipment safely. However, the hirer acknowledges that children’s play equipment carries inherent risks and agrees to ensure appropriate adult supervision throughout the hire period.


Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under New Zealand law.


13. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS


By making a booking with Teenylands, the hirer confirms that:

  • They have read and understood these Hire Terms & Conditions.

  • They agree to comply with all safety and equipment requirements.

  • They have checked that the venue has sufficient space and suitable access.

  • They accept responsibility for the equipment during the hire period.

  • They understand the payment and cancellation terms.
